Khartoum Hibiscus Herbal Tisane

Bold in colour, beautifully tart and wonderfully refreshing, Khartoum Hibiscus is a naturally caffeine-free herbal tisane made from the dried calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa.

Hibiscus has a remarkable place in drinking traditions around the world. Across the Caribbean, it is widely known as Sorrel, while in Egypt the vibrant infusion is known as Karkade. In India, hibiscus is known as Gudhal, while Hibiscus sabdariffa is also widely known as Roselle in many parts of the world.

Our Egyptian hibiscus produces a striking deep crimson-red liquor, with a lively fruit-like tartness and naturally refreshing character. Its distinctive ruby colour makes the preparation almost as beautiful as the drinking experience.

Full-flavoured yet wonderfully versatile, Khartoum Hibiscus can be enjoyed steaming hot as a warming botanical infusion or chilled and poured generously over ice for a bright, refreshing drink. For a softer, sweeter cup, add a little honey or your preferred natural sweetener.

Serving Suggestion

Enjoy Hot: Allow the hibiscus to infuse until the liquor develops its characteristic deep ruby-red colour.
